The Card Concept #36 & Introducing new Design Team Members!

Welcome to The Card Concept! Each week we offer up a challenge for you to try, and we hope that you will create a card in one of the styles we have offered here.  The team is divided into the different styles and each designer explains how they were inspired by the challenge!  So come and join us and try your hand at a brand new "style" of card making or work in your comfort zone, it is totally up to you!

Before we get to this week's challenge, we have three new designers we are excited for you to meet! Welcome ladies!

{CAS Designer}

"Hi there! I'm Sandie and I am passionate about making cards. I started crafting a few years ago and once I started I couldn't stop! My style is Clean and Simple. I am happiest when I have created a card with just stamps and inks and lots of white space! When I am not crafting, I like to walk, grow my own vegetable, and watch movies. I live in London and I love to explore all that it has to offer!

{CAG Designer}

Hi There! I'm Shannon K Jaramillo (pronounced Har-a-me-yo) and I live in Southern California. I have always been a crafty person who discovered scrapbooking while my boys were young. I discovered card making and stamping in particular in 2010 and have been making cards ever since! I am an empty nester and spend my spare moments in my crafting room.  The creative process brings me great joy, as does organizing all of my beloved tools, stamps and papers. Oh! and ribbon and embellishments, we mustn’t forget about those! My style has been defining itself over the years until now I find myself tending toward clean and simple/layered/graphic but I do LOVE pretty papers and sparkles!

(Classy & Elegant Designer)

Hi! My name is Vicki Burdick and I live in Southwest Missouri with my husband of 38 years.
We have one daughter and sadly no grandbabies yet! I have been a crafter most of my life but a paper crafter since early 2004 when I attended a Stampin' Up party with a friend and the rest is as they say history. I love to color and make pretty things. I am thrilled to be joining the Card Concept design team!

This week we are serving up cupcakes
but you can be inspired by:

The colours, the textures, the food, the layout of the cupcakes and so on!

Feel free to use any of the styles of our team or better yet, share you own style by combining one or more of the styles. We want you to have fun and make a card in a style that you feel good about!

The styles are explained HERE.

May Clean and Simple Guest Designer

Shelly Kurth

This month we are focusing on Clean and Simple designs. For the month of May we have talented Shelly Kurth joining us. If you haven't visited her blog,  Simply Sweet Greetings, you are in for CAS delight. CAS design is very often misinterpreted as being easy, it is anything but. Often CAS designs take every bit as much time as any other design style, if not longer, to complete. Balancing white space, patterns, colours and difficulty to find the perfect blend is very challenging. Shelly's blog is full of designs to learn this design style from.

The designers have entered their cards below and they have explained the style they used and the way they were inspired...
